Why District Kasur is Pakistan’s Best Location for Teak and Eucalyptus Farming

When Jungle Dunia chose District Kasur as the location for its flagship agroforestry project, it was not a random decision. After evaluating land across Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kasur emerged as the most suitable district for our combination of teak timber, eucalyptus, and high-value oil crop farming.

Ideal Climate for Teak Production

Teak (Tectona grandis) thrives in warm subtropical climates with a distinct dry season and adequate rainfall. District Kasur, located in central Punjab at the edge of the Bari Doab, receives 450 to 650mm of annual rainfall concentrated in the monsoon months of July through September. Winter temperatures rarely drop below 5 degrees Celsius, which protects young teak saplings from frost damage.

Our farm sits at an elevation that provides excellent drainage while retaining enough soil moisture for year-round eucalyptus growth. Eucalyptus trees at Jungle Dunia reach 15 to 20 feet in their first two years, far exceeding national average growth rates.

Rich Agricultural Soils

The Bari Doab region between the Ravi and Sutlej rivers has some of Punjab’s most fertile alluvial soils. These deep loamy soils hold nutrients exceptionally well and respond strongly to organic composting methods. Our farm uses zero chemical fertilizers, relying instead on natural green manure crops and bio-organic compost produced on-site.

Soil testing conducted in 2025 confirmed pH levels between 6.8 and 7.2 across our 50+ acres, which is optimal for teak, moringa, and lemon grass cultivation.

Strategic Location Near Lahore

District Kasur is approximately 60km from Lahore via the Kasur Road and Bedian Road routes. This proximity to Pakistan’s second-largest city provides significant commercial advantages. Our cold-pressed oil processing unit delivers to Lahore distributors within 90 minutes. Investors and visitors can complete a site visit and return to Lahore in a single half-day trip.

Kasur is also connected to the Lahore Ring Road extension, improving access from all directions as the project scales.

Government Land Classification

All land at Jungle Dunia is classified as agricultural land under Punjab Land Revenue Act. This classification provides investor protection under Pakistani property law. Each plot is registered through the official Patwari system with Registry Intaqal documentation, giving investors the same legal standing as any other landowner in Pakistan.
